We keep a database of all registered paid up Members of the Friends of Wool Library (FOWL) which contains contact information to enable us to communicate with you about library activities, social events and formal meetings such as the AGM.

Due to changes in Data Protection legislation coming into to force on 25 May 2018, we now need your explicit permission to hold and use this information. Permission slips are available in the library and if you have not already done so, please complete and return one as soon as possible stating whether or not you consent to your personal information being held and used by us for the stated purposes.

What data is stored? Any of the following where you have supplied it:

    • Name
    • Address
    • Telephone Number(s)
    • Email address

What is the data used for?

    • To maintain a register of Members
    • To notify you of library related activities and formal meetings
    • To alert you to any changes which may affect your use of the library¬†

The data is not and will not be used for any purpose other than those stated. We are committed to safeguarding your personal information and we will take appropriate steps to secure the information we hold about you .It will not in any circumstance be shared with a third party without your written consent.

How long is the data held for?

    • Data will be held as long as you are a subscribing Member. It will be deleted six months after 31 March of any year where you have not renewed

How can I ask for changes?

    • By enquiring in the library.

You can:

    • Ask to see the data we hold about you
    • Request any changes to the data
    • Ask that your record be deleted
