You can borrow books from Wool Community Library including a good selection of large print titles. Libraries West service has an extensive catalogue with new books being added all the time. These together with talking books and DVDs may be requested at the Library, or online from your home PC, and loan terms are exactly the same as all Dorset Libraries and other Libraries in Libraries West
The Library uses the same computer system as Libraries West. Items can be borrowed and returned across the Libraries West network at all libraries, including the other Community Libraries.
Your Community Library has two public access PCs offering free internet access and the Microsoft Office suite of software. Printing and scanning facilities are also available; printing costs 20p for an A4 sheet.
Volunteers have received training in using the Libraries West website to search for, reserve and renew books, and will be happy to help you to do this.
Free wireless broadband is available.
You can renew items online at any time of day or night.
You can also search the library catalogue for the whole of Libraries West and reserve items if you have a valid Library card. Items you reserve can be collected from Wool Community Library and you will be sent an email when the items are ready for collection.
With a Library card, you can access many reference sources available online, including the Encyclopaedia Britannica, Oxford English Dictionary and many more. A world of information, free, and only a click away.
Dorset County Library Service has a wide range of ebooks and audiobooks available to borrow from the comfort of your own home.
You can download ebooks directly to your computer or ebook reader. Audiobooks can also be downloaded directly to your computer or MP3 player. Unfortunately, Kindles are not currently supported.
Just like physical items, you can keep digital items for the length of the borrowing period. And you can renew the period if you need more time.
A great place to start to find out how to borrow electronic items are these guided video tours.
